Process and Services
Earthwork follows a well organised process of design that first, gathers all the relevant information and inspiration, then creatively resolves the planning and appearance of the design, before detailing the design for construction and overseeing that process.
This usually entails a combination of the following steps:
Client Consultation:
Meeting the client and discussing their needs from which sometimes a brief plan is drawn.
SITE SURVEY AND ANALYSIS:
If required survey work can be carried out as well as a typical analysis of the site conditions and requirements.
SITE PLANNING:
This is a particular strength of Earthwork, where thorough planning of the site is carried out to ensure the layout is the most efficient it can be and optimises design opportunities.
PRELIMINARY DESIGN:
This is the first phase of the normal design process and is intended for the design opportunities to be explored and resolved.
DEVELOPED DESIGN:
Once the design is confirmed, a developed design can be carried out to resolve material, detail and set out issues.
CONSTRUCTION DETAILING:
Complex or cost dependent projects often require well organised and defined drawings to specify, quantify and describe the construction works.
Planting Design
An essential part of any landscape project is to complement the built landscape with a well structured planting framework. Earthwork can supply a variety of plan types using our expert knowledge of growing conditions and plant requirements.
PROJECT MANAGEMENT:
Once a project is detailed, Earthwork can oversee the tendering and construction of projects through to practical and legal completion.
EVIDENCE AND REPORTS:
Some design situations require resource or similar consents and Earthwork can prepare reports and applications to gain these consents.
